Ian Holloway, the QPR manager, stressed back in March that he expected the midfielder to return to Loftus Road at the end of the 2017/18 campaign and play for his side again next term. However, the 22-year-old, who started his career at Old Trafford, is confident Rangers will be able to entice talented footballers from down south to play for them this summer after bringing in Gerrard.

“The prospect of Steven Gerrard being here is massive,” he said. “He was an amazing player and someone I looked up to. His experiences can only help us.
“All you have to do is look at his career. He will be able to back that up with his experiences and help the players on the park week in, week out. The reaction all over the country to him being announced is huge. It is great for the club to get someone like that in.
“Everyone is going to be interested in playing for him. I think playing under him would excite anyone. I definitely think there will be plenty interest from players down south.”
Goss became a regular starter in the Rangers team under former manager Graeme Murty after arriving in Glasgow in January, but he dropped out of the side after the 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at Ibrox in March.
